JOB POSITION: Writer/Interviewer/Editor

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract/Part Time

TERM: 24-Months (Possibility of renewal)

LOCATION: Remote (Must be resident in Canada)

The editorial team at Next Big Thing Canada is in search to include new team members [with journalism experience] to join the team.

Successful applicants will go through 3-levels:

Level 1: Selection Stage Level 1 Screening Questions

Level 2: Interview Stage

Level 3: Performance Assessment Stage

RESPONSIBILITIES: - Successful applicants will be required to:

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicant must have a Communication/Journalism background, either academic qualifications with 3 - 4 years or working experience in communication/journalism
Applicant must have 3 - 4 years experience working with web editors to publish written/editorial content for news/media
Applicant must have 3 - 4 years experience working in a team, with little or no supervision
Applicant must have a good writing skill
Applicant must be interested in information research
Applicant must have conducted interviews x written editorial content related to politics, pop-culture, entertainment, and/or social issues
Applicant must be a resident of Canada
Applicant should have a keen interest keeping up to date with current news/events
Applicant MUST be comfortable handling podcast equipment [microphones, headphones] to conduct interviews for Audio Podcast, and Video Podcast
Applicant must be familiar with the use of modern video podcast and audio podcast recording softwares [Zoom, Riverside, etc.]

This is a Contract/Part-time position. Starting at $150 per article.

Contract length: 24 months [with the possibility to be renewed]

Expected Start Date: Immediately
